To create routes from tracks or vice versa, select the routes and tracks you
wish to convert and choose the Features > Edit > Convert tracks and
routes menu option. After confirmation, a copy of each route and track is
created.
Note: When converting a route to a track, each track point is given a time stamp from the early 20th century, with one second intervals, to make it clear they are artificial. (Some systems reject tracks that have no timestamps.) Conversely converting tracks to routes loses the time information.
