Clearing Previous Searches from Search Toolbar

These notes relate to Internet Explorer version 8.

It appears the previous searches are stored as 'form' data. To clear both the form data and the previous search history:

  1. Select the 'Internet Options' option from the main menu 'Tools' option
  2. Select the 'Content' tab
  3. Click the 'Autocomplete Settings' button
  4. Select the 'Delete Autocomplete History' button
  5. Select the check boxes of the data you want to clear. In this case we need to ensure the 'Form Data' check-box is selected
  6. Click 'Delete'
  7. The selected data types are cleared
